Rainy Season= Greenness

It's the end of rainy season here in Niger and it's been a good one. July and August have had some substantial rainfalls, which makes for a green desert......at least for a few months.

Just round the corner and down the dirt road from the school are rice fields. Yup, you read that correctly. Rice fields growing in the desert....during rainy season.

As I was taking pictures, these boys paused in their walk and were curious about what I was doing. They were quite eager to pose for a picture and seemed to like the result.
So very thankful for the rain....for the coolness and colour that it brings.
"He it is who makes the clouds rise at the end of the earth, who makes lightning for the rain and brings forth the wind from his storehouses." Psalm 135:7
